What is Mazkir?
Mazkir is memory for your AI assistant. What you want remembered, such as projects, preferences, decisions, and how-tos, is kept in your own Markdown notes. Connect ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant, and it can look those notes up, and save new ones, in every conversation.
How do I give ChatGPT or Claude a memory that lasts across conversations?
Create a Mazkir account, then connect Mazkir to your assistant and sign in once. From then on you can say things like “Save to Mazkir that our launch is on October 14” or “What did I decide about the retro? Check my Mazkir notes”, in any conversation.
How is Mazkir different from ChatGPT's built-in memory?
ChatGPT's own memory stays inside ChatGPT. Mazkir notes are ordinary Markdown documents that you can read, edit, organize in folders, and export, and every assistant you connect sees the same notes, so what you told ChatGPT is there when you ask Claude.
Which AI assistants work with Mazkir?
ChatGPT, Claude, and Claude Code, and any other assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server with sign-in. They all connect to the same address, https://mazkir.io/mcp.
Does Mazkir work in Hebrew?
Yes. Notes, titles, tags, and folder names can be in Hebrew, and Hebrew text reads right to left. Search finds a word even when it's written with a prefix letter, so “בית” finds “בבית”, and it ignores vowel marks (niqqud).
What does “Mazkir” mean?
Mazkir (מזכיר) is Hebrew for “the one who reminds”. In the Bible, the mazkir was the king's recorder, the official who kept the record of the kingdom (2 Samuel 8:16).
Do I need to install anything?
No. Mazkir runs online. You add its address to your assistant and sign in; there is nothing to download, and no API key to copy.
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to tools and data. Mazkir is an MCP server: it gives your assistant tools to search, read, and save your notes.
Who can see my notes?
Only you, and the assistants you connect. Mazkir shows no ads, doesn't sell your data, and doesn't use your notes to train AI.
Can my assistant change or delete notes without asking?
Mazkir marks the tools that change or delete notes, so assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude can ask you before using them, and it tells assistants to delete notes only when you ask. Deleted notes can't be recovered, so export your notes if you want a copy.
Can I export or delete my notes?
Yes. Export every note as Markdown from Settings, anytime. You can also delete your account there, which permanently deletes your notes and disconnects every assistant.
Is Mazkir free?
Yes, while Mazkir is in early access. If paid plans come later, you'll hear about it well in advance, and you can always export your notes.
