- [ ] ETIAS status: checked on travel-europe.europa.eu/etias (not in operation in September 2026; if that changes, apply only there, EUR 20)
- [ ] Travel medical insurance: covers every country on the route (visa holders: mandatory, minimum EUR 30,000)
- [ ] Minors: own passports, plus any consent letter the entry country requires
- [ ] EES exemption proof (long-stay visa, residence permit, EU family-member residence card): packed with the passport
- [ ] Travel to Europe app (optional): passport data and facial image sent up to 72 hours ahead, if your entry point supports it
- [ ] Bookings, invitation letter, return ticket, insurance certificate, proof of funds: printed or saved offline
- [ ] Passport condition: undamaged, chip readable, 2 blank pages spare
