### Diving

One of the best dive areas in the Philippines.

- The diving fee is 50 PHP per day, and each dive costs 1,500–2,000 PHP.
- Sometimes the best option is a dive package that includes accommodation, food and dives.
- Dive sites:
  - Monad Shoal: thresher sharks in the early morning, and manta rays later.
  - Gato Island: a sea snake colony and whitetip reef sharks.
  - Dona Marilyn wreck
  - Mogami Maru wreck: about 50 m deep, for experienced divers.
- Dive centres:
  - Evolution Diving: very good, but expensive.
  - Devocean Divers Malapascua: lots of recommendations.
  - Purple Snapper Dive Resort: less central, with lower prices.

### Getting there

1. From Cebu City, take a Ceres bus from the North Bus Terminal to Maya (about 4 hours, 150 PHP).
2. From Maya, take a boat (about 30 minutes, 80 PHP). The first boat leaves around 6:30 and the last around 15:00; times can change with the tide.
